This page gives details about our .NET components' evaluation period, pricing, licensing,
and upgrade information.

The price lists for our .NET controls are available on two separate pages:
Evaluation Period
The versions of our components from this web site are for evaluation only.
You have a 15-day time frame to evaluate the components, after which they must be registered
or removed from your system.
The evaluation version of components may not be used in any production application.
Pricing and Licensing
Licenses must be purchased for each developer on a project using a component.
This license grants each developer the right to use the purchased components in production
applications and to include any files marked as redistributable with their applications.
Each individual developer on a project using a component requires a separate developer license,
whether they directly use the component or not!
This means "one license for EVERY developer on the project", NOT "one license per developer using the component."
After all, your entire project benefits by using the component.
For instance, if you have a project with three developers that uses a component, three
licenses must be purchased, even if only one of the developers directly works with the component.
If, after the project is completed, two of the developers move to another project
that uses the component, the license is still good for those two developers.
However if two new developers join this new project, two additional licenses are required for those developers.
Licenses may not be transferred between developers.

Developer License
A single developer license grants a developer the right to use the purchased components in production applications
and to include any files marked as redistributable with their applications.
Site licenses cover all developers at a physical location.
Enterprise licenses cover all developers throughout your entire organization, regardless of location.

WPF Components Only
License Renewals
All WPF component licenses include one year of free upgrades to any major/minor new versions that are released within that year.
Licenses may be renewed annually to continue the free upgrade benefits.
License renewals must be purchased within 30 days of the expiration of a previous license's free upgrade period.
Otherwise a full developer license must be purchased the next time the developer wishes to obtain a new major/minor version.

Windows Forms Components Only
Upgrade
Upgrades are for developers who already own licenses for an old version of a product and wish to upgrade to a new version.
Developers only need to upgrade if they are past their free upgrade period or if they have let an annual subscription expire.
Annual Subscription
Subscriptions allow developers to receive free upgrades for one year after purchase and may be renewed annually.
Subscriptions must be purchased within 30 days of a developer license/upgrade purchase or the expiration of a previous subscription.
Otherwise, an upgrade is required to be purchased along with the annual subscription.

Blueprint License (Source Code)
A Blueprint license includes the source code and a year of source updates for the product being purchased.
It must be kept in sync with a yearlong developer license, meaning that it can be purchased with any WPF component
(since those include a free year of upgrades) and with any Windows Forms component for which you also purchase an
annual subscription (Site/Enterprise licenses also qualify).
Notes:
This license has special restrictions that are indicated in the End-User License Agreement for each control.
The source code may not include Actipro proprietary licensing code.
All Blueprint license purchases must be coordinated through and approved by the Actipro
Sales Department
prior to any order being placed.

Add-ons
An add-on is a product that provides extended functionality for another control.
An example is the .NET Languages Add-on for the SyntaxEditor control.
Add-ons are only available via an enterprise license and include a free full year of updates.

End-User License Agreement
Each product contains a full End-User License Agreement (EULA) contained within the evaluation and full release ZIP files.
If your legal team needs to review the EULA before purchase, please download the evaluation version of the desired control
and examine the EULA within the ZIP file.

- Free maintenance updates for the version you purchase
- Free major/minor upgrades for one year after purchase (WPF components only)
- Free major/minor upgrades for 30 days after purchase (Windows Forms components only)
- No run-time licensing fees or royalties

- Subscription to product upgrades and betas for one year (optional for Windows Forms components)
All of our components may be purchased through a secure on-line
credit card transaction which accepts major credit cards.
Upgrade Policy
Occasionally maintenance releases are made available with small feature enhancements and/or bug fixes.
Upgrades to these releases are free.
Maintenance releases have the same major/minor version number as the version for which they apply, but have a different build number.
For WPF components, each license and license renewal automatically includes one year of free
upgrades to any major/minor new versions that are released within that year.
For Windows Forms components,
upgrades to major/minor new versions require a small fee for each license you own if you are beyond your license's free upgrade period.
Annual subscriptions may also be purchased which allow for free upgrades for a year.
