I have 2.6 on my computer and I want to update but can't find where to do so. Going to the Microsoft store just gives me the Launch button and doesn't seem to have an updated version. Running Windows 8.1.

That is correct. There is a 3.x version out with many large changes over v2.6, but it's only available for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or later. v2.6 is the latest for any Windows version prior to that. Once you upgrade to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, you'll be able to download v3.x.
