External Application can't launch in ME

SpiderWriter locks-up when launching any external applications on the Millenium Edition Platform.

WORK AROUND: Don't launch Aps. from SW or don't install ME yet.

I'll look into this. Do the lockup occur when you launch the Image Mapper or FTP Client from the Spider Writer toolbar? These applications use the same method of being called as the external apps.

No. Just Netscape 4.7. thus far. I guess my statement was a bit too broad.

So did you use the special Netscape setup we provide and execute it from that or did you set up an external applications item and run it from there. This makes a difference in where the problem is.

Also, try setting up something like Notepad from the external application settings and let me know if this also locks up your machine.
