Evaluation Extension

Sometimes you just need more time to evaluate a product than what is offered by default.

Don't worry, we understand, and happy are to provide you with an extension for your evaluation of our products.

Extension Instructions

Select a tab to see related evaluation extension instructions for that platform.

Our WPF control products use the Windows registry to store information about your evaluation.

Please follow these steps to extend your evaluation of these products:

  • Close down all instances of Visual Studio if you have it open.
  • Uninstall the Actipro product you are evaluating that is about to expire or is expired.
  • Select your processor architecture:

  • Use regedit to remove these keys if they exist: 

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Actipro Software\WPF Controls\[MajorVersion].[MinorVersion]
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Actipro Software\WPF Controls\[MajorVersion].[MinorVersion]

    MajorVersion and MinorVersion are the major and minor version numbers of the product.

    Please be careful while performing this step.

  • Reinstall the evaluation release of the product.
  • Restart Visual Studio and perform a Rebuild Solution on your solution to reset any cached license data.

Your evaluation period should now be reset.

Our Universal Windows product evaluations are hassle-free, meaning there are no license keys required for evaluation and no annoying nag screens. The products will no longer be able to be used after a certain date following your evaluation period without the purchase of developer licenses or an evaluation extension.

We periodically update our Universal Windows product builds and extend the evaluation period end date each time.

To extend your Universal Windows controls evaluation, please simply download a new evaluation build.

Our WinForms control products use the Windows registry to store information about your evaluation.
