Ctrl Key Text Dragging

In many editors, if you hold down the Ctrl key when dragging text, it will do a copy instead of a move. SE seems to do this, but if I select text and then hold Ctrl and attempt to move it, SE changes my highlight from the selection I had to the token where I click to begin dragging.

Is there a way to prevent the Ctrl+Click from selecting the current token while still keeping the Ctrl+Drag to copy text?
