When you upgrade from one version of UIStudio to another, what do you need to do with the licenses.licx file? Do I manually change the version number?

Or is there a way of auto-regenerating the licenses.licx file?

Ok, I've just seen the Licensing FAQ, and it says you need to update the version manually. Does that mean that the PublicKeyToken will never change?

If there are big breaking changes we sometimes have changed the public key token. So if you just update the version number and you find that you have licensing issues, it's best to jump to the sample project and copy the entries from that over to be sure you have the updated information.

Really? Is there no Visual Studio licensing integration that auto-generates or auto-updates this information? It seems a bit hit-and-miss to manually change version numbers and copy-and-paste PublicKeyTokens.

Sometimes VS does update it and sometimes it doesn't. Unfortunately it's nothing we can control since that is all in Microsoft's code and is hit-or-miss. So that's why we recommend manually updating it to ensure that it is correct.

Ok, thanks. Can you put the licensing FAQ information in your documentation, or perhaps the readme file. And can you include the bit about the PublicTokenKey.

Thanks
