Status Bar Sizing Issue - Bars for Windows Forms Forum

If I place a status bar control in the VS designer and then modify the panels, the status bar shrinks in height to 14 and looks quite compressed. I am unable to set the control's height property either during runtime or design time. How can I force it to maintain a normal size?

Apparently the solution is to set the text property of at least one panel before resizing the progress bar panel. To repro the problem, create a new status bar, add three panels (the third of which should be a progress bar panel) and then the first change you should make is to resize the progress bar control (I set it to 300) and the bar should shrink down to 14 px.
