I will want to retain a tabitem at its side of its docksite regardless of whether it is in a floating or docked state. That is, floating a tabitem should float its associated window but not pull off the tab from its docksite location. In addition, when a tab comes back to its autohidden state, it should come back to its original tab.

I'm sorry but we don't have any functionality for keeping a tab in the main DockSite while the related docking window is floating. If an auto-hidden tab is closed and then reopened, it should return to its old location. But if you move it elsewhere and then put it back in auto-hide, I believe it will always go to the end of the tabs on the side it auto-hides to.
