Hi!

Markdown is a markup language for web writers. A lot of README files are writen in Markdown and using the extensions .text, .md, .mkdn and .markdown

There are lots of variations of MarkDown, but Markdown Extra looks more widely used.

Hi Robson,

Thanks for the suggestion.  Could you provide some detail on what sort of tokens you ideally would like to see highlighted and how it should look?

There are several implementations of syntax highlighting of Markdown markup. Some of them really turns the text into bold and italic, but leaves others elements untouched. Others, change the color of everything. This, used by Sublime, is a good one.

Since Code Writer is for developers, not for web writers, I guess that just highlight the markup elements a little lighter than the actual text is enough.

We plan on adding Markdown to the next version (v1.7).
