In one of the previous versions of your PropertyGrid there was a property named EmptyTemplate. It is gone now.
Was it replaced with something else or this functionality is completely gone? I think it was very useful.

Yes, it was replaced. Please see the PropertyGrid's "Converting to 2011.2" documentation topic for details on that.
