Is there any plan to implement Syntax Editor as a JavaScript widget, preferably based on jQuery? As the industry moves rich clients towards a html5/javascript based apporach, more JavaScript apps are being built without any UI markups from the server. Actipro Syntax Editor is the best in WPF/SL space, if you guys can do it in JavaScript, that would be awesome.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the suggestion.  At the moment, we don't have any immediate plans to work on a JS version.  We currently are working on a Windows 8 WinRT version though.

I image this would be technical challenging, that's probably why there isn't a ASP.NET version of SyntaxEditor. The first step is probably convert the ASP.NET CodeHighlighter control to JS widget.

I hope the advancement in html5/JavaScript/CSS3 can make it technically feasible to implement a full JS SyntaxEditor. worst case, html5 canvas can be used to give you control at pixel level to draw every element. also, the JS control can be wrapped as ASP.NET server control too.

The latest build of this product (v24.1.1) was released 2 months ago, which was after the last post in this thread.
