Is there support in the Ribbon for the Read Mode like in Word 2013?

Word 2013 defines a distinct application mode called the "Read Mode" where the Ribbon is collapsed into plain Tabs that only show Menu Items instead of Ribbon Tabs plus the classic Window actions (minimize, maximize etc).

Is this mode available or "workaroundable"?

Thank you.

Hello,

That sort of mode is a completely different UI than the Ribbon, so to support it, I would recommend that you hide the Ribbon and show other custom UI that is similar to the read mode.  Then when you exit read mode, toggle back on the Ribbon UI again.

How can i show the backstage from my custom UI though if the Ribbon is hidden?

You could try to programmatically set the Ribbon.IsApplicationMenuOpen property to true.

We managed to squize in a Read Mode with the Ribbon by offsetting it to the top and overlaying and separate menu over it.

The latest build of this product (v24.1.3) was released 29 days ago, which was after the last post in this thread.
