similar to the option of making text regions readonly, is there a way to make certain text parts nonselectable? Or at least make them not appear selected?

Sorry, we don't have anything that supports that concept. You could disable the editor but that would affect all the text.

Although one idea popped in my head. You could "collapse" certain ranges of text that shouldn't be editable. Check out the two "Collapsed Regions" QuickStarts we have. The first hides the text completely and the second replaces it with a "..." adornment. You could put any element in there in place of the collapsed text.
