Maintain sorted column during navigation

Shell for WPF Forum

Using the ShellListView Intro as an example, if you click on the date modified column header to have the list sorted by date, and then go into one of the sub folder. Once the new list is updated, the list is now defaulted to be sorted by name.

Is there a way to maintain the sorted column along with the descending or assending order?

Hi Rex,

Right now it is set to reset sorting whenever the root shell folder changes.  I believe we did since Windows Explorer tracks sort state separately in each folder, and some columns you sort by could be in one folder but not in others.

We're open to suggestions though.  Would you like to see a property added to control this behavior?

You mean a property that will determine whether to reset the sorting or not?

I think that will be great. It will solve my problem.

Thanks,

Hi Rex,

We're adding a ShellListView.CanResetSortOnRootShellFolderChange property for the next maintenance release.
