Protect a layout - Docking/MDI for Windows Forms Forum

Version: 2.0.99

Once a layout has been created and saved, is there a way to allow the user to protect the layout?
i.e. Once it has been protected, no changes can be made to it - cant float/dock/add/remove/resize. The user will then need to "unprotect" it to make any changes.

There are a lot of Can??? methods on DockManager that control global defaults for tool capabilities. There are related instance overrides on ToolWindow. These are all described in the documentation. I believe you can protect against all the actions you mentioned except resizing.

Still it may be better to instead (or also) save a baseline layout that you are happy with and provide a way to restore back to that when needed. Like via a "Reset Window Layout" menu item.
