Is there anyway around the current problem where a language that uses child languages can not be used unless it is an actual file as opposed to building it in an assembly and using a resource stream?

Actually if you load them up and then save them using our sample app, it will save the combined XML def to a file. You can do that with our sample app if you save the HTML def.
You also can combine the defs using code which is demonstrated in the sample app as well. Check the dynamic creation form code for that sample.
