Hi,

We are seeing a focus issue with the actipro window / ribbon never losing focus even when it is not the primary window.

To reproduce, open the Actipro ribbon browser in a minimized state (so it does not take up the entire screen). Then open IE or Word and place them in a minimized state so that it is smaller than the Actipro ribbon. With the IE or Word application as the active window, mouse over the Actipro ribbon browser. The tool tips still pop-up.

If I do this with word and IE, the inactive application does not trigger tooltips.

Why do the tooltips come up when the application is not active?

Andy,

WPF tooltips seem to raise regardless of whether the app has focus or not. You can see this with a normal Window that has a Button with a tooltip on it.

Do you have a solution / recommendation for how we can avoid this? If you do the same thing with MS Word, everything is inactive.

Are you saying this is a WPF thing and we cannot avoid?

Our screen tips mimic the normal WPF tooltip behavior which you can repro with a plain Button containing a ToolTip and see the same thing. Sorry but I don't believe there is any sort of option to do application focus checking with tooltips.
