Issue with foreign languages (SyntaxEditor) - SyntaxEditor for Silverlight Forum

Version: 10.1.0102

Hi,
We cannot use foreign languages in SyntaxEditor.
That mean we can input english only.
SL doesn't support IME in third party controls,and that is the reason why?
And there is anyway to get over it?

Hi,

Unfortunately Silverlight only permits IME on TextBox and RichTextBox controls. Since SyntaxEditor is a custom control, Silverlight doesn't allow it there. We did some tests of some "hack" ideas today. One was allowing us to enter Japanese chars but blows up with a catastrophic exception in Silverlight import code. We found that there is possibly a bug in Microsoft code related to this that was reported in Connect. We'll watch that bug and perhaps if it gets fixed, we can do the workaround idea we had to allow IME in SyntaxEditor.

The latest build of this product (v18.1 build 0233) was released 6 years ago, which was after the last post in this thread.
