SyntaxEditor 2.0.0100 Release

We're extremely pleased to announce the release of SyntaxEditor 2.0. Version 2.0 makes vast improvements over the 1.0 version. This major new release has been in development for months however after you see the great new feature set, you'll realize the wait was well worth it.

These high-level features have been added:

<li>New NFA regex engine supporting more constructs
<li>Ability to completely modify languages at run-time
<li>Lexical parser that parses all text into tokens
<li>Ability to easily integrate semantic parsing

<li>Outlining and auto case correction
<li>New IntelliPrompt member list helper methods
<li>Improved word wrap and bracket matching
<li>New documentation and much, much more

Version 2.0 has an enormous detailed list of enhancements so the details are only being posted in the Readme.html file that comes with the SyntaxEditor download.

For users wanting to move from 1.0 to 2.0, the version is not directly upgradable. There are numerous interface changes in the object model. You may or may not run into these depending on the features you have used in your applications. Also, the language definition format is redesigned for much easier language creation. There is a help topic in the documentation discussing moving from 1.0 to 2.0.

If you are an owner of version 1.0 and would like to upgrade to 2.0, please log into Customer Relations. If you originally purchased an annual subscription and if it is still active, you can request a free upgrade to 2.0 in the Purchases page in Customer Relations. If you do not own an annual subscription, you can purchase an upgrade or an annual subscription for the amount of developer licenses you own. This will allow you to be licensed for the 2.0 version.
