I am currently running Windows XP RC2 with Internet Explorer ; it seems that the image mapper has code prior to its launch that checks to make sure the cersion of IE you are using is greater than 4.01. I receive an error that i am not running a late enough version... is there a work around? XP is due out in a couple of months and the IE 6 Preview version has been available for anyone to download for awhile.

Please let me know...

We'll look into this Brian. We haven't had a chance to get IE 6 installed yet.

We have a Windows 2000 machine with IE6 on it now and had no problems with Spider Writer not recognizing that IE was ok. It may be a Windows XP bug. We'll try and get a copy of XP to try it out on.

SpiderWriter is not the problem... ImageMapper is. I have tested this 'bug' on a Windows 2000 Machine with IE6 and have received the same error. The only thing i can think of that may also be causing it is the .NET SDK Component Update, but i couldn't imagine that that would interfere with a version check.

I just checked the code... the Image Mapper and the other tool applications use a different way to check the IE version than the main Spider Writer app. Can you see if it is happening on your FTP Client and the other small apps?

FYI, the Win2K machine with IE6 that I tested it on also has .NET installed.

I just made all of the small apps use the same code as the main editor. This should fix it and will be released with version 5.02, due out soon.

Beta testing should begin within a week if all goes well. I don't expect that to take too long. I can sign you up as a beta tester if you'd like.
