Performance problems with large files

SyntaxEditor will take over 10 minutes to open an 11MB xml file when using the PlainText language (much longer with xml language). I am able to open this file with other editors less than 2 minutes (i.e. TextPad, XmlSpy, and etc…)

Have you improved the handling of large files? I am currently evaluating Actipro for an editor control where I have a need to open very large plain ascii text files. Will I see a performance problem?

Hi Debi, not yet but that's something we hope to do with v4.0. The reason we haven't done it yet is that it's going to force a lot of internal changes. But we are planning on doing a lot of internal changes anyhow for v4.0 to deal with advanced parsing so it's definitely the right time to look into it.
