Language domain size - SyntaxEditor for Windows Forms Forum

Hello

In SyntaxEditor 1.0 there was a problem with language domain: LoadLanguageDomainFromXml worked too slow and precompiled domain was guite large.
In your demo ActiproSoftware.SQL.xml file size is 26 K and it takes about 20 seconds to load. ActiproSoftware.SQL.language loads fast but it's size is 887K.
So my question is:
Did you reduce precompiled domain size in version 2.0? Or maybe XML loding speed was increased?

Good news... that was one of the areas we completely redesigned in 2.0. In version 2.0 the XML files load almost instantly now and no binary compilation is used. You can save XML language defs back out in encrypted form but those are the same size as the original XML. Also, language defs can be modified at run-time in 2.0.

Basically, everything relating to languages is really improved in 2.0. We're very close to releasing a public beta. We're currently on the second closed beta.
