Floating tool window - Docking/MDI for Windows Forms Forum

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is achievable:

Minimize the parent window without hiding its floating tool window.

I know this is not quite normal but still interested to know if there is a solution for it. It is hard to say NO to the customer's requirement...

Unfortunately I don't think it is possible. The reason is that the tool windows have the parent main window as their Form.Owner. Therefore, when the parent window minimizes, Microsoft Windows automatically minimizes any windows that are owned by the parent window as well.
