Dock to the OS desktop - Docking/MDI for Windows Forms Forum

Hi all,

Just wondering if it is possible, somehow, to make the tool windows dock to the Windows desktop instead of a .net windows form? Maybe I'm talking about a impossible mission :).

Hi Roger,

Unfortunately since the desktop isn't a real control, we can't dock windows to it. Sorry.

I wonder if you could dock the controls to a form that is completely transparent? If you maximized the transparent form, it would have a similar effect. Just thinking out loud :)

I also tried it - all the child windows including the tool windows in the parent form were invisible as well when the parent form is completely transparent.

That is fair enough. As my understanding, dock to the Windows desktop is completely a different story.

The latest build of this product (v24.1.0) was released 2 months ago, which was after the last post in this thread.
