I'm using a class that derives from a canvas that is embedded two levels deep in a User Control which is embedded within another User Control. I can't get the canvas class to update the legends and lines associated with it? Any suggestions?

Could you elaborate further on the issue you're encountering? Do the legend and lines show up and then fail to refresh on a resize or data refresh? Or do they not show up at all? Any screenshots, code samples, or futher description would be helpful so we can assist you.
