Is there any difference between those two controls?  Is there something one can do while the others can not?  What specifically is MicroChart for?

Thanks!

Hi David,

Our MicroCharts controls are a simplified version of Charts that are intended to be displayed at a smaller size. This format of chart (when displaying a line series) is also commonly called a "sparkline". They are often inlined in reports, grids, and other places, and are meant to convey the general trend of a dataset in a confined area.

Charts have additional features over MicroCharts -- they can display axes with ticks, labels on each data point, legends, grid lines and stripes, and more. These are the kind of charts you would generally use in a dashboard, large-format report, and other places where you have more space and want to convey more detailed information about a dataset.

For an example of how each are generally used, I recommend you download our trial and take a look at the SampleBrowser application. The demos for MicroCharts and Charts will demonstrate common uses and features of both.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks for your interest!
