Code writer as Default RTF viewer

Code Writer App Suggestions and Support Forum

We supply a readme.rtf file with software releases.  In Windows 10, now, Microsoft has made Code Writer a default RTF viewer.  However, the file is displayed in it's native ASCII markup view rather than as an RTF file like Word might display.   Is there any workaround for our users who just want to read the RTF?

Thanks

Hi Max,

It seems that Microsoft includes some third-party apps (occasionally including our Code Writer) on some new Windows 10 installs.  Code Writer is just for editing code and as such will only show the markup view instead of a WYSIWYG view.  You could always use the Windows Explorer right-click menu's "Open With" command to open a file with another app.  The one dialog off that menu allows you to set the default app for opening the related file type too, so it could be reset to Wordpad, Word, etc.
