on the screens in Microsoft Store Code Writer have a file explorer and icons for search and print. I cannot for my life find those when using the program on windows 10. Have they been taken away somewhere in the development process?

Hello,
The screenshots you see on the Store are for version 3.x, where we made a much nicer user interface. That version requires Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or later though. I suspect you are still running v2.x and don't have Fall Creators Update on your system. Once you get Fall Creators Update installed, the Store will let you install v3.x.
