Are there any plans to support Ribbon Customization? Obviously you have QAT Customization, but our users are asking for the ability to customize the Ribbon Tabs themselves ala Microsoft Office, etc.

I fully realize this is a daunting request as you have to be able to uniquely identify Tabs/Groups between sessions as well as between versions of Applications.

Do you have any suggestions or perhaps 3rd Party imiplementations of this for Actipro?

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

While we do offer built-in QAT customization, we don't have full Ribbon tab customization.  I'll write down the suggestion.  That being said, it's probably possible for you to implement this sort of thing.  If you programmatically constructed all of your tabs, groups, and controls from a set of known controls, you could probably achieve it.

You would need to have a default model hierarchy of sorts that indicated the default tab/group/control hierarchy.  Then you'd have to build a UI that presented all of the available controls to the end user, and then would allow them to add those controls into a model hierarchy.  Finally, you'd have to construct your Ribbon hierarchy based on the model hierarchy, which could have customizations by your end user.
