I would like to know if it's possible to animate the Actipro Backstage / Application Menu similarly to how DevExpress' is animating when opening it and closing it.

Hi Greg,
Backstage doesn't support intro animation at the moment. We are aiming to work on more themes updates later this year and modernizing things more. This might be something we target at that time. I've added it to our notes to look into.
