The first opening of a menu in the menubar (ie popup of a BarPopupButtonLink like the edit menu) after starting seems to cause the currently focused window to lose focus. It happens consistently and then seems to work fine afterwards for subsequent clicks.
I have also noticed that in some cases, interupting the normal window lose-focus/gain-focus sequence with fancy stuff such as dialog windows or changes of focus in the lost focus or leave events of windows in a certain way somehow resets whatever state the menu's were in when the application was started and then the first click thereafter causes the same loss of focus again.
I have tested this on Vista and XP machines and it occurs on both.
