I am running on RHEL 9.4 with GNOME.  When a check box or text box is disabled, the border disappears.

Hello,

That's odd.  We loaded up our sample project on an Ubuntu installation via the Windows System for Linux.  When we run our sample app there, the app's content area renders the exact same as what we also see on our native Windows 11 variation other than the default app font being different on Linux.  I verified that the checkboxes and textboxes both have borders when disabled in our themes.

If you are not using our theme, then your question should be posted to the Avalonia theme's GitHub instead.

Or if you are seeing it when using our theme, please run our unaltered sample app as well and look at the Themes / CheckBox sample to see if you notice the problem there.  If you don't see the problem there, I wonder if the background you have the controls on in your case is the same as our disabled border color for CheckBox / TextBox, making it just blend in.  You can verify that if you temporarily use a lighter container background like white.

If the border blending is the problem and you don't want disabled controls to have a slightly lighter border than enabled controls, you can always alter the border color theme resource (e.g., SwitchBorderBrushOutlineDisabled, EditForegroundBrushDisabled) however you need.
