Find/Replace Question

In the find/replace dialog/options I have text in the editor that looks like this: When I do a find/replace and choose to search for the whole word and enter 'n/a' in the Find box, nothing is found. If I check off the Whole Word option then the text is found. Is there a way to make it find text strings like this in whole word mode?
