Column-Based Text Selection

In VS.Net Editor, you can select columns of text by holding down the ALT key prior to clicking and dragging the mouse for your selection. I wasn't able to find a property in SyntaxEditor to enable this feature. Is this supported? If not, could this be added in a future release? Let me know if I need to be more descriptive about the functionality I'm referring to.
