Do you have an estimate on when the .NET languages add-on will be on par with the Windows Forms version? Do you know yet if the .NET languages add-on will be part of WPF Studio or will it require an additional license purchase? Do you consider the WPF Syntax Editor a public beta still?

Hi Chris,

We're currently working on finishing up WPF Studio 2010.1's first release and our first Silverlight controls release. After that, one area we will work on will be a grammar/AST model for the WPF SyntaxEditor. While we make that, we'll be implementing the Web Languages Add-on to test it. Once all that is done we'll likely move into the .NET Languages Add-on since that is a popular request.

The language add-ons will likely be sold separately from WPF Studio, similar to how they are with the WinForms version, so that we can keep the price of the product bundle down. SyntaxEditor will likely remain in beta just until the grammar/AST features are done. Really, it's plenty stable right now and is used in production by many customers. We only have the beta tag on it in case any breaking changes are needed for to support grammar/AST when we get into that. But hopefully there won't be any.
