Good day...

I'm trying to make a new connection to a database in Spider Writer, so I go to "Environment" and then "New Data Connection", then I get the window that says it doesn't see MDAC 2.5 or later, and I have 2.6 on my machine. Is there something more I need to do to make the program see it? Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

Nue,

Spider Writer just tries creating some database objects such as a RecordSet at the beginning of that wizard to see if your computer has the required version installed or not. Generally in ADO, Microsoft installs stub DLL files which let you access the old interfaces of these objects but it doesn't seem like it's working in your case.

You may try uninstalling 2.6, installing 2.5 and then reinstalling 2.6. However do this at your own risk since Microsoft products like MDAC don't sometimes react well to being uninstalled.
