scrolling question

example, in msn messenger, if you the user chooses to scroll up and read through previous messages, new incoming messages will not cause the textbox to automatically scroll to the bottom. only when the scrollbar is all the way at the bottom will the autoscrolling happen.

how can i mimic this behavior using the SyntaxEditor?

ps. i found a thread on this very issue, but it was from 2005 and seemed to be referencing code that no longer existed.
